Mackenzi vs. The Super Market

4 Mar

I do not like many breakfast cereals, but those that I do, I absolutely cannot get enough of. There was a time when my diet consisted of entirely diet coke and corn flakes, and that’s only a slight exaggeration. Since arriving in England, I have been able to purchase 98% of the breakfast cereals I desired (namely Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Special K, and Corn Flakes). And yet, that 2% evaded me. What lies within that mysterious 2%, you ask? Raisin Bran, my friends. Raisin Bran. The holy grail of breakfast cereal. Unavailable in England.

Until today.

Today I realized that I just hadn’t been looking in the right spot. Or rather, for the right phrasing.

Today while in the supermarket, I found this;

As I have said before, everything is just a little bit different in England.

I also spotted this little treasure at Tesco today, which I have seen before but previously forgotten to doccument and share with all of you. And I realize that, because of how it translates from British into American, it is a lot funnier than intended. But still….Why on God’s green earth would anyone want to put something named “Mr. Brain’s Pork Faggots” into their mouth?

Maybe I should do a blog giveaway of a box of these beauties, just like my friend the Shoeologist is doing over at her blog. She’s giving away a free pair of some awesome shoes called Lucha Shoes, which I will probably just end up buying even if I don’t win, because that’s how awesome they are. Anyways, you can read about her giveaway here and read about how cool Lucha shoes are here. Blamo! Did you see that successful linkage? That took me like twenty minutes to figure out….shut up.
*For the record I am doing this because I want to win a pair of free shoes, which is done by mentioning said shoe giveaway on your blog. Also for the record, don’t you dare go enter and decrease my chances of winning! Unless you intend to give me the shoes once you have won them. I would like grey, please.

    Thanks for the link-up, my dear!

    (And I totally agree with you about the Mr. Brains Pork Faggots….that seems like the ULTIMATE marketing fail.)
